Experienced Tax Professional

Job Responsibilities:

The experienced tax professional is a key position, bridging the gap between bookkeepers and firm management. This professional will prepare personal tax returns ranging from basic to complex plus some fiduciary returns. The qualified candidate will be responsible for reviewing basic returns prepared by other staff, aid colleagues with questions they encounter, and will work closely with management to assist with workflow, technology, and client matters. In addition to tax preparation, the professional will be responsible for assisting clients with tax planning, retirement planning and taxing authorities’ correspondence.

 

Job Duties:

  • Focus on business and individual income tax preparation and review
  • Assist with other types of taxation, including estates, trusts and gifts
  • Prepare complex returns
  • Review basic returns
  • Assist other staff with technical questions
  • Research and document complex issues
  • Collaborate with team members and other teams within the firm
  • Review income tax notices from taxing authorities and prepare appropriate responses
  • Assist clients with tax planning
  • Calculate and prepare quarterly estimates
  • Prepare income tax projections
  • Assist clients with estate tax planning
  • Communicate with third party advisors
  • Work with technology to further develop a fully paperless office
  • Help others with the pressure of a fast paced environment
  • Commit to long hours as necessary around deadlines
  • Develop client relationships
  • Provide feedback to firm management for process improvements
  • Develop and lead internal training sessions

 

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of experience
  • CPA or EA preferred
  • Client service oriented
  • Focus in individual income taxation and planning
  • Strong written and verbal skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office
  • Able to manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Budget conscious
  • Positive attitude
  • Self-motivated

 

 

Business Tax Professional

Job Responsibilities:

This professional will prepare business and personal tax returns beginning with basic and advancing toward complex.  The qualified candidate will be responsible for reviewing bookkeeping prepared by other staff, aid colleagues with questions they encounter, and will work closely with management to assist with client matters.  This professional will review financial transactions and create financial reports from that information for a variety of business clients.  This includes posting information to accounting journals or accounting software from such source documents as provided by the client.  The business tax professional also reconciles accounts to ensure their accuracy and organizes the file for tax preparation.  This position oversees the payroll specialist with live payroll preparation, deposits, and quarterly/annual reporting.

 

Job Duties:

  • Help others with the pressure of a fast paced environment

  • Monitor fixed asset additions
  • Monitor debt levels and compliance with debt covenants
  • Conduct periodic review of all accounts to ensure their accuracy
  • Issue financial statements and other reports as requested by client
  • Assemble information for external auditors for annual payroll or insurance audits
  • Calculate and issue financial analysis of the financial statements as requested
  • Maintain an orderly filing system in Doc.It
  • Maintain an annual budget, if required
  • Review payroll and quarterly/annual reports, if required
  • Provide clerical and administrative support as requested

  • Bachelors in accounting
  • CPA, Enrolled Agent, or working toward
  • Client service oriented
  • Strong written and verbal skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office

Tax Professional

Job Responsibilities:

This professional will prepare business and personal tax returns beginning with basic and advancing toward complex.  The qualified candidate will be responsible for preparing bookkeeping for clients as well as calculating and filing sales tax, and will work closely with management to assist with client matters.  This professional will review financial transactions and create financial reports from that information for a variety of business clients.  This includes posting information to accounting journals or accounting software from such source documents as provided by the client.   The tax professional also reconciles accounts to ensure their accuracy and organizes the file for tax preparation.  This position works with the payroll specialist with live payroll preparation, deposits, and quarterly/annual reporting. The tax professional will review tax information received from the client and communicate to other staff or clients the additional information needed.

  • Internship - 2+ years of experience
  • Bachelors in accounting
  • CPA, Enrolled Agent, or working toward
  • Client service oriented
  • Strong written and verbal skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office; QuickBooks a plus
  • Able to manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Detail oriented
  • Positive attitude
  • Self-motivated
