Job Responsibilities:

This fun, friendly team is looking for a self-starter to join them as a bookkeeper. The bookkeeper records financial transactions and creates financial reports from that information for a variety of business clients. This includes posting information to accounting journals or accounting software from such source documents as provided by the client. The bookkeeper also reconciles accounts to ensure their accuracy and organizes the file for the tax preparer. The bookkeeper position assists the payroll specialist with live payroll preparation, deposits, and quarterly/annual reporting.


Job Duties:

  • Monitor fixed asset additions
  • Pay supplier invoices in a timely manner or ensure all vendor payments are recorded properly
  • Pay any debt as it comes due for payment or tie out debt payments to loan schedule
  • Monitor debt levels and compliance with debt covenants
  • Issue invoices to customers when required by client
  • Remit sales tax to the government
  • Record cash receipts and bank deposits
  • Conduct a monthly reconciliation of every bank account
  • Conduct periodic reconciliations of all accounts to ensure their accuracy
  • Issue financial statements and other reports as requested by client
  • Assemble information for external auditors for the annual payroll or insurance audits
  • Calculate and issue financial analysis of the financial statements as requested
  • Maintain an orderly filing system in Doc.It
  • Maintain the chart of accounts
  • Maintain the annual budget, if required
  • Record payroll and process quarterly/annual reports, if required
  • Export accounting file to ACS Workpapers and organize all backup documentation for the tax preparer
  • Provide clerical and administrative support as requested
  • Process periodic payrolls as requested by Payroll Specialist; including direct deposit payments, quarterly reports and annual W-2 forms


Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Energetic with a positive attitude
  • Microsoft Office skills (Outlook, Word, Excel) and computer skills
  • Associate's degree in accounting or business administration, or equivalent business experience, as well as a knowledge of bookkeeping and generally accepted accounting principles. Preference will be given to candidates with a working knowledge of QuickBooks.
  • Ability to manage pressure situations and a fast pace
  • Detail oriented
